1. Overview

The Golden Conqueror ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Service. We collect only the data we need to run the game, keep your account secure, and support you. We do not sell your personal data.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account, you provide:

• A username.
• An email address, used to verify your account and to send password resets and service messages.
• Your date of birth, which we use to confirm you meet the 18+ age requirement and keep as an age record.
• A password. We never store your password itself, only a one-way hash of it.

As you play, we store game data tied to your account, such as your games, empires, nobles, chat messages, and win and loss record. Our servers also keep short-lived operational logs, which may include your IP address, to protect the Service against abuse.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and run your account and play the game.
• To verify your email address and confirm you are 18 or older.
• To sign you in and keep your account secure, including rate limiting and lockout after repeated failed logins.
• To send you password resets, verification links, and important service messages.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To detect, prevent, and address abuse, cheating, and security issues.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that make the game work, under agreements that limit them to processing it on our behalf. These include a third-party email delivery provider and our cloud hosting and database providers. We may also disclose data if required by law.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data as described below. We may retain anonymized game records so that games you took part in remain intact for the other players.

6. Your Rights

You can view and update your username, email, and password on your profile page at any time. You can also delete your account, which removes your personal data. 7. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account from the Account Settings section of your profile. Deleting your account removes your username, email address, and date of birth, and disables your password so you can no longer sign in. This cannot be undone.

Your participation in past and ongoing games is kept in an anonymized form, with no personal data attached, so those games stay intact for the other players.

8. Security

We protect your data with standard measures. Passwords are stored only as salted one-way hashes, and traffic between you and the Service is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

9. Children

The Service is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and may notify you by email or in the game.
